Funding Bengal Tiger Conservation
India
International Expeditions started out 30 years ago as a company that funded conservation projects through our ecotourism efforts, and their long-standing relationship with Tiger Trust is representative of that same goal. While on their India journey, International Expeditions’ guests have an extraordinary opportunity to observe and learn about Bengal tigers at Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks. But they can also walk away with the knowledge that their India tour also helped to preserve these same animals! IE donates $100 per traveler to India to Tiger Trust India, a program to ensure the future well being of the seriously endangered tigers of India.
International Expeditions has been working with Tiger Trust since 1989. The project has been very successful in conserving habitats and creating Bengal tiger awareness worldwide. But more than just Bengal tigers, Tiger Trust is improving life for the people living near the national parks, and educating forestry officials and police on conservation laws.
Tiger Trust’s primary missions are:
- Education & Research
- Publications
- Awareness Generation
- Tiger Habitat Conservation
- Ecotourism
While these pillars form the basic structure for the Tiger Trust’s work, continued funding from donations and tourism by International Expeditions and their guests will help grow the project’s social and conservation projects.
